A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PARKS AND
RECREATION DEPARTMENT TO DEVELOP A DOG PARK AREA
WITHIN ALLISON PARK AT 6475 COLLINS AVENUE, ONCE THE
AREA IN AND AROUND ALLISON PARK IS NO LONGER USED FOR
STAGING FOR THE ON-GOING BEACH RENOURISHMENT PROJECT;
WITH THE DOG PARK PROJECT TO BE IMPLEMENTED WITH -
PREVIOUSLY APPROVED FUNDING.
WHEREAS, Allison Park is a public park with beach access located on 6475
Collins Avenue; and
WHEREAS, currently, a portion of Allison Park is being used for staging for an
on-going beach renourishment project; and
WHEREAS, residents living in the surrounding areas of the park have requested
for that area to be turned into a dog park once the beach renourishment project is
complete and the area is vacant; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission desire to authorize the Parks and
Recreation Department to develop a dog park at or near Allison Park, once staging is no
longer required for the beach renourishment project, with the dog park to be
implemented with previously approved funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission authorize the Parks and Recreation department to develop a dog park area
within Allison Park at 6475 Collins Avenue, once the area in and around Allison Park is
no longer used for staging for the on-going beach renourishment project; with the dog
park project to be implemented with previously approved funding.
