MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTIONS NO. 2021-31951, 665-
2021, AND 006-2021, SETTING THE DATES FOR THE YEAR 2022 CITY
COMMISSION MEETINGS, MIAMI BEACH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
MEETINGS, AND NORTH BEACH COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
MEETINGS BY(1)SETTING A MEETING ON NOVEMBER 21,2022 TO ACCEPT
THE FINAL ELECTION RESULTS FOR THE NOVEMBER 8, 2022 SPECIAL
ELECTION, (2) SETTING A MEETING ON DECEMBER 12, 2022, TO ACCEPT
THE FINAL ELECTION RESULTS FOR MIAMI BEACH COMMISSIONER
(GROUP II), IF THERE IS A RUN-OFF IN THE GROUP II RACE, AND (3)
RESCHEDULING THE DECEMBER 7, 2022 CITY COMMISSION MEETING TO
DECEMBER 14, 2022.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.04 of the Miami Beach City Charter,the City Commission
shall meet at such times as may be prescribed by Ordinance or Resolution; and
WHEREAS, on December 8, 2021, the City Commission via Resolutions No. 2021-31951,
665-2021, and 006-2021 set the dates for the year 2022 City Commission, Redevelopment Agency
(RDA), and North Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (NBCRA) meetings, and
WHEREAS, on January 20, 2022 the City Commission via Resolution No. 2022-31968,
amended Resolutions No. 2021-31951, 665-2021, and 006-2021, canceling the February 23,2022
meeting, rescheduling the March 15, 2022 meeting to March 9, 2022, rescheduling the May 11,
2022 meeting to May 4, 2022, and rescheduling the October 19,2022 meeting to October 26,2022,
and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach's Special Elections are scheduled for November 8,
2022, with a Run-Off Election to occur on December 6, 2022, if necessary, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Miami Beach Code Section 38-4, "[o]n the first business day
immediately following the County Elections Supervisor's issuance of the final results, the City
Commission shall meet for the purpose of accepting the returns of such election(s)and ascertaining
the results thereof," and
WHEREAS,the Supervisor of Elections has notified the City Clerk that the Certification of
Official Results for the November 8, 2022 Special Elections will be provided to the City Clerk after
2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022, and
WHEREAS,as such,the City Commission Meeting to accept the final election results for the
November 8, 2022 City of Miami Beach Special Elections, must be held on Monday, November 21,
2022, and
WHEREAS,the Supervisor of Elections has notified the City Clerk that the Certification of
Official Results for the December 6, 2022 Run-Off Election, if required, will be provided to the City
Clerk after 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022, and
WHEREAS,as such,the City Commission Meeting to accept the final election results for the
December 6, 2022 City of Miami Beach Run-Off Election, if required, must be held on Monday,
December 12, 2022, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to change the December Commission meeting
date from December 7, 2022 to December 14, 2022, to allow the newly elected Group II
Commissioner the opportunity to participate in the December Commission Meeting.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, amending Resolutions No. 2021-31951, 665-2021,
and 006-2021, setting the dates for the year 2022 City Commission Meetings, Redevelopment
Agency Meetings, and North Beach Community Redevelopment Agency Meetings by (1)setting a
meeting on November 21, 2022 to accept the final election results for the November 8, 2022
Special Elections, (2)setting a meeting on December 12,2022 to accept(if necessary)the Run-Off
Election results, and (3) rescheduling the December 7, 2022 meeting to December 14, 2022.

ANALYSIS
The City of Miami Beach's Special Elections are scheduled for November 8,2022,with a Run-Off Election to occur on December 6,2022,if
necessary. Pursuant to Miami Beach Code Section 38-4, "[o]n the first business day immediately following the County Elections
Supervisor's issuance of the final results,the City Commission shall meet for the purpose of accepting the returns of such election(s)and
ascertaining the results thereof."
The Supervisor of Elections has notified the City Clerk that the Certification of Official Results for the November 8,2022 Special Elections
