Made by Beth Edwards Second by Mary Keinath The Committee for Quality Education requests the Mayor and Commission allocate the $275,000 STEM funding for Miami Beach public schools as follows (estimated) and ensure this equipment/consumable donation to Miami Beach public schools be sustained by Miami Dade County Public Schools: • Miami Beach Sr. High School $104,000 • Miami Beach Nautilus Middle School $27,000 • Miami Beach Fienberg Fisher K-8 $110,000 • North Beach Elementary $15,000 • Miami Beach South Pointe Elementary $19,000 • Biscayne Beach Elementary $0 The Committee for Quality Education urges the Mayor and Commission to support the above request. Education Department Referral to NQLC (Sept. 21 at 3 pm) and Finance (Sept. 30 @ 9:30 pm) 2. C4R Referral (Meiner) NQLC and C4AE Referral (Richardson) MBSH Drop off and Pick Up – February 25, 2022 Finance Meeting discussed. $175,000 recommended as match to MDCPS and Miami Dade County 3. C4E MBSH Scoreboard request matching fund $12,500 recommended at March 30 Finance meeting and on May 4 Commission agenda – approved – pending MDCPS draft amendment to the JUA for MBSH Field 4. C4F MB Chamber request $100,000 prostart kitchen at MBSH referred to April 29 Finance meeting. Approved at May 4 Commission agenda – draft agreement routed for approvals. MBCEF will sign agreement with MDCPS. 5. Motion 12.7.21 on Public Safety and Neighborhoods Quality of Life May 17, 2022 agenda item 28 from January 20, 2022 item C4A PD Method to get correct and timely info to cmb residents in times of real-time emergencies – discussed at July Commission meeting and PD & Fire CMB and MDCPS emergency practice drill August 2022 Education Compact 1. Safety / Traffic • CMB Ordinance alcohol sales and other type shops near schools (Belush list of businesses) – list provide in late February – removed 2.
