A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A GRANT IN THE
AMOUNT OF $25,000 TO THE NORMANDY FOUNTAIN BUSINESS
ASSOCIATION, INC., ("NFBA") TO BE USED FOR NORMANDY
FOUNTAIN PROGRAMMING, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK
AND CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE CITY'S STANDARD GRANT
AGREEMENT WITH RESPECT TO THE FOREGOING; AND FURTHER,
IN VIEW OF THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS ORGANIZATION AND THE
PUBLIC PURPOSES SERVED BY THIS PROGRAMMING, DIRECTING
THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO PRIORITIZE THE ALLOCATION OF A
$25,000 GRANT TO NFBA FOR NORMANDY FOUNTAIN
PROGRAMMING, AS PART OF THE CITY'S ANNUAL BUDGET
PROCESS FOR FY2024.
WHEREAS, the Normandy Fountain Business Association, Inc., ("NFBA") was
formed with the purpose of stabilizing and improving the Normandy Fountain
businesses through promotion, activation, marketing and other similar services with the
goal of encouraging the continued development of a diverse and dynamic setting for
business, the visiting public, arts and entertainment, as well as area residents; and
WHEREAS, the NFBA is committed to creating a favorable environment, which
will increase commercial and cultural activity within the Normandy Fountain Business
District; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission wish to allocate a one-time grant in
the total amount of $25,000 to NFBA, to be used to expand their current programming
and activations at the Normandy Fountain for the benefit of the businesses and the
public, subject to NFBA submitting a report by November 1, 2023, documenting the
objectives achieved with the grant funding and compliance with all other terms of City's
standard grant agreement; and
WHEREAS, this grant allocation is in addition to funding that is currently being
provided to NFBA in FY2023; and
WHEREAS, further, in view of the importance of NFBA's mission and public
purposes served thereby, the Mayor and City Commission direct the City Administration
to prioritize the allocation of $25,000 to NFBA for its Normandy Fountain programming,
as part of the City's annual budget process for FY2024.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby approve a grant in the amount of $25,000 to the Normandy
Fountain Business Association, Inc., ("NFBA") to be used for Normandy Fountain
programming, and authorize the City Clerk and City Manager to execute the City's
standard grant agreement with respect to the foregoing;. and further, in view of the
importance- of this organization and the public purposes served by this programming,
direct the City Administration to prioritize the allocation of a $25,000 grant to NFBA for
Normandy Fountain programming, as part of the City's annual budget process for
FY2024.
