SUBJECT: Reed Midem Organisation Events at Miami Beach Convention Center
We are pleased to announce that the City of Miami Beach will once again be hosting the MIDEM
Latin America & Caribbean music market at the Miami Beach Convention Center in 1998. The show
will begin setting up on August 21, with the event opening to the industry on August 25th and running
through August 28th. The return of this prestigious event for its second consecutive year will once
again showcase Miami Beach as the gateway between North and South America for numerous major
record labels and independent record companies in connecting them with top media and artists in the
recording industry. While we have not yet secured firm dates for 1999, we are currently working with
Reed Midem to insure the show's return again in that year.
Due to the success enjoyed by the organizers in the production of MIDEM last year, the Reed Midem
Organisation, out of its Paris-based office, has also contracted to launch MIPIM Americas in
November 1998 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Scheduled for November 22-24 this year,
MIPIM Americas will bring together supply and demand from South, Central, and North America in
the real estate property sector. Like MIDEM, we look forward to developing this event into an annual
presentation as well.

We are excited to further our relationship with the Reed Midem Organisation, one of the world's
premier trade show producers. This organization is responsible for the worldwide production of
thirteen trade shows dedicated to the music, television, multimedia, and real estate industries.
Certainly Miami Beach's emergence as a worldwide entertainment capital is proving to be a wonderful
fit with this prestigious client.

In my capacity as Director of the Music Division of REED MIDEM ORGANISATION,
and in particular, the MIDEM LATIN AMERICA & CARIBBEAN music market, whose
second edition, we are happy to say, will be taking place in Miami Beach from 25 to
28 August 1998, I am delighted to be able to send you some information on our
trade shows.
The enclosed REED MIDEM ORGANISATION corporate brochure illustrates that we
are the organisers of thirteen trade shows dedicated to the music, television,
multimedia and real estate industries. Last year alone, our shows in Cannes, Miami,
Hong Kong and Singapore attracted more than 58,000 professionals, representing
23,368 companies from 138 countries.
As you may be aware, three of our trade shows are dedicated to the music industry.
In Cannes, MIDEM brings together world-wide professionals from every domain of
the international music industry, anxious to negotiate rights, sign distribution,
publishing or licence deals, promote artists and discover new talents and new
trends.
MIDEM ASIA, whose third edition took place in Hong Kong last May, responds to the
recent development in the Asian Pacific music industries.
Two years after setting at10at MIDEM ASIA, and after months of research involving
many music industry professionals from the USA, Latin America and Europe, it
became apparent that there was a real necessity within the music industry for a
MIDEM LATIN AMERICA & CARIBBEAN music market.

Miami being a gateway between North and South America, and numerous major
labels, independent record companies, top media and artists being established in
Miami Beach, led us to the decision to hold MIDEM LATIN AMERICA & CARIBBEAN
in Miami Beach. This event proved to be an excellent business forum for industry
professionals. Please find enclosed the MIDEM LATIN AMERICA & CARIBBEAN
brochure.
Also, in response to the globalisation and networking needs of the real estate sector,
we organise three property trade shows (MIPIM and MAPIC in Cannes and MIPIM
ASIA in Singapore). Moreover, we are in the process of launching MIPIM
AMERICAS, which will be held for the first time from 22 to 24 November 1998 in
Miami Beach, and which will bring together supply and demand from South,
Central and North American property sectors, Please find enclosed a MIPIM
AMERICAS brochure.
Five of our trade shows are dedicated to the television industry, MIPCOM and MIP-
TV, held in Cannes, bring professionals from the audio-visual world together to
network, negotiate rights, establish co-production, conclude co-financing
agreements and gather information concerning new trends, as well as receiving
updated information on audio-visual news.
MIPCOM JUNIOR, which takes place prior to MIPCOM, and the first edition, this
year, of MIPDOC, which takes place prior to MIP- TV, enable distributors and
broadcasters of youth programmes and documentary programmes to show
screenings and choose new products.
MIP ASIA, whose fifth edition will be held in December in Singapore, was created to
respond to the development of the Asia Pacific region's television markets, and, in
particular, their tremendous demand for programmes.
We are also currently developing "MIP INTERACTIVE", a virtual market, which will
be an efficient networking and transaction tool, customised for entertainment
industry professionals from the television industry.
Another one of our nine trade shows dedicated to entertainment industry
professionals is MILIA, whose fifth edition took place in Cannes in February.
Dedicated to interactive media contents regardless of the platform, MILIA brings
together, on a world-wide scale, key decision makers and professionals of the
interactive media industry to buy and sell rights, form strategic alliances, develop
on-line services, scout new talents and negotiate distribution agreements.

WORLD EDUCATION MARKET
Cannes, February 7, 1998 - Xavier Roy, Chief Executive Officer of Reed Midem
Organisation, announced today the creation of an annual trade show dedicated to the
international business of education. The World Education Market will be held from the
24th to 27th of May 2000 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Conceived of as a 'one-stop shopping' event, The World Education Market will be the first
commercial forum for public and private sector players from all areas of education,
serving learners of all ages, regardless of their location or choice of media - from educational
institutions to at-home learning, from technical schools to workplace training, from books and
television to the Internet.
The opportunity to buy and sell their products, expertise and services, to co-finance
development and to create partnerships will attract a range of participants which reflects the
multi-faceted nature of education itself: schools, colleges and universities, government and
development agencies, workplace training, distance learning and adult continuing education,
book and multimedia publishing, the telecommunications industry, including television, satellite
and cable, as well as computer hardware and software companies.
The world trade in education in 1996 was estimated at $28 billion and is projected to
increase dramatically. "The education market is truly becoming global," declared Xavier
Roy.
"Dealing simultaneously with smaller budgets and increased demands for educational
opportunities, governments and institutions around the world are turning their attention to the
international marketplace to purchase solutions, systems and expertise, to adapt and localize
products and resources, to enter into collaborative development and partner with the private

"Over the last several years, many of our clients from publishing, television and
multimedia have brought to our attention the need for a greater focus on the education

Midem undertook a major international study that included some 300 interviews with key
