SUBJECT: Adrian Morales, Facilities and Fleet Management Department Director
The purpose of this L TC is to formally advise you that Adrian Morales has submitted his
resignation as the City of Miami Beach Facilities and Fleet Management Director to pursue an
incredible opportunity in the private sector. His resignation is effective Friday, June 2, 2023. As a
result of his announcement, I will immediately begin strategizing and reviewing options to appoint
an interim Department Director in the near future.
I would be remiss if I did not mention that the person that will succeed Adrian will have big shoes
to fill. During his eight-year-long tenure with the City of Miami Beach - with six of those years as
Department Director - Adrian has strived to ensure the City's more than 4 million square feet of
city-owned properties and assets are well maintained, the nearly 70 employees who work under
the Department's Facilities Management, Asset Management, and Fleet Management Divisions
remain productive, and the Department as a whole continues to provide excellent customer
service to all who live, work, and play in our world-class city. Also, under Adrian's leadership, the
Facilities and Fleet Management Department has demonstrated that our City is home to one of
the best departments in the nation. In recent years, the Fleet Management Division was nationally
recognized by the National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA) for several
accomplishments, including being ranked as NAFA's 32° and 98" Best Fleet of "100 Best Fleets
in the Americas" in 2022 an d 2023, respectively, the 44" best Gr e en Fleets in North America
(2022) (the only Miami-Dade County municipality to receive this honor in 2022), as well as an
outstanding workplace to Mechanic Ill Rodchild Blaise, one of NAFA's 2023 Technician of the
Year Award finalists.
Overall, as an Administration, we are proud of the years of dedication that Adrian Morales has
selflessly given to our City. We thank him for his excellent service to the City of Miami Beach, and
we wish him well in his latest endeavor. We will miss him.
