We have no issue with this mandate • Most businesses, and almost all the residents, do not see any benefit to this provision. • Since there is no safety purpose, and there is no demonstrated business purpose, the provision for the partial opening of Ocean Drive to vehicular traffic serves no useful purpose and should be removed. • In fact, the provision is contrary to the interests of virtually all residents and most businesses ... and would be greatly harmful to the progress that has been made in elevating the area to residents, businesses and visitors. • The Commission's Neighborhood Committee has referred to the full Commission their clear support for the Promenade. In fact, they are inclined to extend it further. Our recommendation is consistent with their action; the provision for partial opening is not. The Commission should support the progress that has been made by removing the provision for vehicular traffic and keeping the PP closed.
