Builder, and Indeed,
0 Commenced advertising with International Code Council, Building Officials Association of
Florida, South Florida Building Officials Association, Board of Rules and Appeals, and
Linked -In.
0 25 candidates applied of which 5 qualified candidates were referred to the Department in
June and July.
0 14 interviews were held in June and July, both for employees and temporary employees

0 Employed five new employees who have started work in June and July and are in training.
0 Employed five temporary employees (permit clerks) to supplement staffing and maintain
services.
0 Increased temporary professional services from three to seven, provided through CAP
Government, to •# staffing and maintain services.
0 Entered into Independent Contracts (ICAs) with other Building employees • other
Municipalities (1 electrical; 1 mechanical) to continue providing timely services.
• Participated in the Southeast Building Conference to spread the word on the employment
opportunities at the conference, including hosting a recruitment table.
• Closed out all continuous job announcements and referred qualified applicants to the
Building Department for their review.
• Reopened all advertisements for the following positions that we currently have vacant to
close on September 1, 2023, to commence with a fresh pool of applicants.
• Contact Department of Business and Professional Regulations (DBPR) directly to obtain
a list of state -licensed individuals.
• Used Constant Contact to send out a mass email communication to licensed
individuals.
• Distributed over 900 recruitment letters through US mail.
• Engaged with nearby municipalities to understand their hiring approaches.
• Encouraged employee referrals to encourage current employees to recommend possible
candidates, resulting in two referrals.
• Mentioned available opportunities and inform potential candidates during our monthly
meetings and trainings with the public.
