Division will be participating in the countywide Point in Time Census managed by the Miami Dade
County Homeless Trust on August 24 25, 2021
The bi annual census is the physical count of the homeless on City streets between 10 pm on
Thursday, August 24 and 6 am on Friday, August 25, 2023.
The Homeless Outreach Services Division's walk in center will close at noon today, August 24
and will remain closed through Friday, August 25 to enable staff participation in the census. The
Division's extended outreach team will continue to conduct street outreach, engagement, and
shelter placements during this time. New Hope C.O.RRS. will also conduct routine afterhours
outreach from 7 prn 3 am and Miami Beach Police Department officers are also able to make
direct shelter placements. The office will re open on Monday, August 28, and resume normal
operations.
Staff will provide an update on Point in Time Census results via a subsequent Letter to
Commission.
