On behalf of the Board of Directors of Miami Beach United (MBU), please find a resolution in advance of
the Commission Meeting of September 27, 2023, pertaining to:

Miami Beach United Board of Directors
Resolution for City Commission meeting 9/27/2023
R2-A Sponsored by Facilities & Fleet Management/Procurement
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY MANAGER,
PURSUANT TO REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR THE MANAGEMENT AND
OPERATION OF A HIGH-END BEACH ESTABLISHMENT
Miami Beach United (MBU) requests that this item be deferred until the regularly
scheduled October Commission meeting. The procurement process required that all
bids be sealed until the City Manager issued a recommendation, which occurred on
September 20th. With a Commission meeting just a week later, and Yorn Kippur in the
interim, there simply is not enough time for residents and neighborhood associations to
review and comment on the bid proposals before a Commission vote. Doing this at a
special meeting in just a few days appears rushed and is counter to an open and
transparent process consistent with Residents Right to Know and residents right to be
heard at a regular meeting.
