GMP AMENDMENT
AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGER FOR THE
FIRE STATION NO.1 PROJECT
Pursuant to the Agreement dated April 30 , 2020 between the City of Miami Beach, a Florida
municipal corporation (the "City") and Kaufman Lynn Construction, Inc., a Florida corporation (the
"Construction Manager") for the FIRE STATION NO. 1 Project ("Project"), , as amended by that certain
Amendment No. 1 dated April 10, 2023 to include pre -construction services related to construction of a
temporary facility for the Rainbow Intergenerational Learning Center (Daycare) at Flamingo Park and the
structural and electrical infrastructure for future installation of the Apollo Mural on the fapade of Fire Station
No.1 (the "Agreement"), the City and Construction Manager hereby agree to amend and modify the
Agreement by this GMP Amendment (Amendment No. 2), dated and effective as of , 2023,
to establish a Guaranteed Maximum Price for the Project and time for completion of the Construction Phase
of the Project as set forth below:
ARTICLE 1
SCOPE OF WORK
Construction Manager shall be responsible for and shall perform all Work delineated in and reasonably
inferable from the Contract Documents and KL GMP Proposal dated August 15. 2023, including
Attachments 1 through 6 below, which are hereby incorporated into and made a part of the Amendment by
this reference:

ARTICLE 2
GUARANTEED MAXIMUM PRICE
Construction Manager's Guaranteed Maximum Price for the Work contemplated in the Contract Documents
or reasonably inferable therefrom. including the Cost of the Project as defined in Section 8 of the
Agreement, the Construction Manager's Construction Overhead and Profit Fee and General Conditions
Fee as defined in Section 7 of the Agreement, and the Construction Manager's Contingency as defined in
Article 6 and set forth below, is Twenty -Four Million Nine Hundred Ninety -One Thousand Eight Hundred
Forty -Five dollars, ($24,991,845) (the "GMP" or "Guaranteed Maximum Price"), which includes the
following:
2.1 The Subcontract Costs for Work of Subcontractors and Suppliers selected pursuant to Article 4 of
the Agreement, for the entire Work contemplated in the Contract Documents or reasonably inferable
therefrom, will be based on actual Subcontractor invoices to the Construction Manager up to the
established amount of Nineteen Million Seven Hundred One Thousand Five Hundred Forty -Two
dollars ($19,701,542), and said amount stated in this Section 2.1 is included within the GMP.
2.2 The General Conditions Fee for all general conditions items and expenses as defined in Section 7.1.2
of the Agreement, for the entire Work anticipated on this Project are hereby established as a lump
sum amount of Two Million Six Hundred Twenty -Five Thousand Three Hundred Thirty -Five dollars
($2,625,335), and said lump sum amount stated in this Section 2.2 is included within the GMP. The
items included as General Condition expenses are listed in the List of Itemized General Conditions
attached hereto and incorporated herein as Attachment No. 5. Construction Manager acknowledges
and agrees that the City shall have no liability for any General Condition costs or expenses, either
listed herein or specified in Section 7.1.2 of the Agreement, beyond payment of the lump sum stated
in this Section 2.2 and Construction Manager agrees that it shall not be entitled to receive any
additional compensation from the City for the General Conditions beyond the lump sum amount
unless expressly adjusted by a Change Order in accordance with the Contract Documents.
2.3. The Construction Overhead and Profit Fee as defined in Section 7.1.3 of the Agreement, for the entire
Work anticipated on this Project, shall be 4.72% of the Cost of the Fire Station No. 1, 5_5 % of the
Cost of the Daycare Relocation and 5_5 % of the Cost of the Apollo Mural (as identified in Section 2.1
above) plus the Construction Manager's General Conditions Fees (as identified in Section 2.2
above). and is included in the GMP. The Construction Overhead and Profit Fee for Change Orders
shall be 55% of the net change in the GMP, associated with the Work that is the subject of the
Change Order.
2.4. A Construction Manager's Contingency, which shall only be used for the limited purposes specified
in Subsection 6.4.1 of the Agreement, is hereby established in the amount of _Five Hundred Fifty -
Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty Seven Dollars ($559,987.00), and said amount stated in this
Section 2.4 is included within the GMP. In no event shall the use of the Construction Manager's
Contingency cause the GMP to be exceeded. The Construction Manager shall be solely responsible
for all costs that exceed the GMP (as adjusted by Change Order or Construction Change Directive),
without any reimbursement from the City. Construction Manager shall use all diligent, good -faith
efforts to maximize cost savings and minimize use of the Construction Manager's Contingency.
Draws made against the Construction Manager's Contingency shall be made as specified in and to
the limited extent permitted by the Contract Documents.
2.5. The City retains exclusive use and control of the City's Contingency ($1,249,592), and all
expenditures must be approved in writing by the City Manager or Project Coordinator by Change
Order or Construction Change Directive in accordance with the Contract Documents. Construction
Manager shall not proceed with any portion of the Work, which it intends to charge against the City
Contingency without first obtaining City's express written authorization to proceed. Any unused City
Contingency remaining at the completion of the Project shall accrue solely to the City and shall not
be used for purposes of calculating any Project Cost Savings.
2.6. Applications for Payment of the Cost of the Project. General Conditions Fee. the Construction
Overhead and Profit Fee shall be made monthly based upon the percent completion of the Work for
each particular month and in accordance with the Contract Documents. The percent completion shall
be based on the updated and City -approved Construction Schedule as required by the Contract
Documents, The Construction Manager will be required to furnish documentation evidencing all
expenditures for which it seeks payment or reimbursement and demonstrating that the costs incurred
were necessary for the Work, in accordance with the Contract Documents, including Article 11 of the
Agreement.
2.7. Construction Manager recognizes that this Contract includes work for trench excavation in excess of
five feet deep. Construction Manager acknowledges the requirements set forth in Section 553.63 of
the Florida Statutes entitled Trench Safety Act, Construction Manager certifies that the required
trench safety standards will be in effect during the period of construction of the Project and
Construction Manager agrees to comply with all such required trench safety standards. The amount
of Twenty -Five dollars ($25.00) has been separately identified for the cost of compliance with the
required trench safety standards, said amount is included within the GMP.
2.8. The GMP may be adjusted pursuant to the terms herein for Change Order in accordance with the
Contract Documents.
ARTICLE 3
CONTRACT TIME
3.1. The Construction Phase Commencement Date for the Work shall be the date stipulated in the Notice
to Proceed. The total period of time beginning with the Construction Phase Commencement Date (on
site mobilization of Work) through the date required for Substantial Completion of the Work is Seven
Hundred -Twenty (720) calendar days ("Contract Time")
3.2. Pursuant to this Agreement, the parties have established the limitations of liability and liquidated
damages rates set forth in Section 5.1.3.1, which the parties acknowledge and agree apply to this
GMP Amendment and Construction Manager's responsibility to complete the Work within the
Contract Time and achieve the Milestones as stated therein.
ARTICLE 4
ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS
4.1. Pursuant to Subsection 2.5.2.3 of the Agreement, the Construction Manager (a) hereby represents
and warrants that it has taken all steps reasonably necessary to ascertain the nature and location
of the Work, and that it has investigated and satisfied itself as to the general and local conditions
which may affect the Project (as may be reasonably inferred), the performance of the Work and/or
the Project Site and (b) hereby acknowledges and agrees that it shall not be entitled to an
adjustment in the Project Schedule or the Guaranteed Maximum Price based on general or local
conditions affecting the Project, the Project Site and/or the performance of the Work, unless
otherwise provided for in this Agreement, and the Construction Manager waives and releases City
from any and all Claims associated therewith.
4.2. Pursuant to Subsection 5.2.3 of the Agreement, except to the limited extent of reasonable
acceleration costs funded from the City's Contingency pursuant to Subsection 5.2.3.b. to regain lost
schedule progress directly resulting from Excusable Delays; the Construction Manager hereby
acknowledges and agrees that its pricing of the Work and the determination of the Guaranteed
Maximum Price is expressly based upon the Construction Manager's assuming the cost risks of
taking all steps that may be necessary, including implementation of a Recovery Schedule,
acceleration of the Work, or extraordinary measures, in order to achieve a Milestone or Substantial
Completion. In no event shall Construction Manager be entitled to any other compensation or
recovery of any damages in connection with acceleration or constructive acceleration, including
consequential damages, lost efficiency, opportunity costs or similar remuneration.
4.3. Omitted without implications.
4.4. Stored Materials. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, the City shall not be required to pay
for materials, machinery or other personal property stored off the Project Site, or stored on the
Project Site but not yet incorporated into the Work (the "Stored Materials"), unless the following
conditions are satisfied by Contractor, at the City's sole discretion (the cost of which shall be
included in the Guaranteed Maximum Price):
(a) Contractor shall deliver to the City bills of sale and/or other evidence reasonably
satisfactory to the City of the cost of, and, subject to the payment therefor, the City's title in and
to such Stored Materials:
(b) The Stored Materials are identified to the Project and the City, are segregated so as to
adequately give notice to all third parties of the City's title in and to such materials, and are
components in substantially final form ready for incorporation into the Work,
(c) The Stored Materials are stored at the Project or other property owned by the City in the
area or at such other third -party owned and operated site as the City shall reasonably approve,
in writing, and are protected against theft and damage in a manner reasonably satisfactory to the
City, including, if requested by the City, storage in a bonded warehouse in the county in which
the Project is located,
(d) The Stored Materials will be paid for in full (minus the required retainage) with the funds to
be disbursed by the City to Contractor, and all lien rights or claims of the supplier will be released
upon full payment,
(e) The City has or will have upon payment with disbursed funds a perfected, first priority
security interest,
(f) The Stored Materials are insured, in the name of the City, for an amount equal to their
replacement costs in accordance with this Agreement,
(g) The City or City's representative shall at all times have the right of access to Stored
Materials in the possession of the Contractor or a third -party that has been approved by Owner
in writing, including prior to the approval of the request;
(h) The Contractor shall assume total responsibility for the Stored Materials to the extent not
covered by insurance.
(i) Contractor shall certify that it has inspected such Stored Materials and they are in good
condition and suitable for use in connection with the Project,
0) Contractor shall provide explanation for the circumstances giving rise to the request. The
explanation shall include anticipated installation date of the Stored Materials, in accordance with
the approved baseline schedule,
The Contractor must update the inventory of any and all Stored Materials on a monthly basis and
must reflect changes to all Subcontractors' and Sub -subcontractors' inventory.
4.5. Escalation Allowance. The Guaranteed Maximum Price includes a cost escalation allowance in an
amount equal to $100,000 (the "Cost Escalation Allowance"). The Cost Escalation Allowance shall
be documented in a separate line item on the Schedule of Values. The Cost Escalation Allowance
may only be utilized for unanticipated costs incurred by Contractor directly as a result of escalations
in materials costs due to market conditions that the Contractor could not have avoided through its
compliance with other sections of the Agreement and specifically as stipulated below:
Contractor shall use its (and shall cause its Subcontractors to use their) best efforts to limit the City's
exposure to increases in the cost of materials for the Work by locking in prices for same with
applicable suppliers and vendors in a timely and prudent manner and to avoid increased and
unnecessary costs to the City. However, to the extent that a price has been locked in with a supplier
for materials and the market for such materials later decreases prior to the time such materials are
delivered and installed at the Project Site, Contractor shall use its (and shall cause its Subcontractors
to use their) best efforts to reduce the price of such materials. To the extent that the Contractor fails
to satisfy its obligations pursuant to this Section, Contractor shall be solely responsible to pay for any
increased costs of such labor, equipment or materials resulting from such failure.
Any unused portion of the Cost Escalation Allowance remaining at the completion of the project
shall accrue solely to the City and shall not constitute or be used to calculate project cost savings.
4.6. Allowance for Design Modifications exclusively for the Daycare Relocation project. The
Guaranteed Maximum Price includes a construction allowance exclusively for the Daycare Relocation
design modifications in an amount equal to $100,000 (the "Daycare Relocation Allowance"). The
Daycare Relocation Allowance shall be documented in a separate line item on the Schedule of
Values. The GMP is based on design drawings and criteria developed by the Architect of Record and
assumptions made by the Construction Manager. The Allowance may only be utilized for any
additional cost of work associated with further development of the design plans not previously
included in the GMP and subject to the Owner's approval.
Any unused portion of the Daycare Relocation Allowance remaining at the completion of the project
shall accrue solely to the City and shall not constitute or be used to calculate project cost savings.
4.7. All defined terms herein shall have the same meaning ascribed to them in the Agreement or other
Contract Documents. Except as expressly modified herein, the terms and conditions of the
Agreement remain unchanged. In the event of a conflict between the terms of this Amendment and
those of the Agreement, City and Construction Manager agree that the terms of this GMP Amendment
shall prevail and control.

Permit Set Construction Document Estimate

DIVISION 01- GENERAL ITEMS:
This scope is intended to expand and/or clarify plan interpretation in instances where the plans are in
conflict or silent. Should the plans conflict with other contract documents, this proposal is based on the
plans being the default. The following descriptions provide further Clarification to the Permit Set
Construction Document Estimate and take precedence over all Contract Documents.
1. The following insurance requirements are included as part of this estimate:
a. Builder's risk insurance is included as required
b. Payment and Performance Bond is included as required.
c. General Liability insurance is included as required.
2. The following Contingencies are included as part of this estimate:
a. 2% Permit Allowance (For sub -permits)
b. 3% Owner's Contingency
c. 3% Construction's Contingency
3. Standard work hours are anticipated during normal business days (7:00 AM to 5:00 PM) including
Saturdays if required. Off -Hour work will be identified in the final Estimate related to any activities
that require a second or night shift.
4. Pricing is based on current market conditions. No escalation has been accounted for. This proposal
is valid for 60 days. Beyond that Kaufman Lynn will need to perform a GMP "true -up" for any
trades not under contract. Since it is anticipated that the Work will not be released until the Spring
or Summer of 2024, KL recommends that the City include an escalation allowance in their budget
to account for future escalation.
5. Temporary or 'Construction Power' will be the responsibility of KL in its entirety. Once the
permanent meter(s) have been installed by FPL, Owner becomes responsible for power.
6. Plan/Drawing Revit Model and CAD Files shall be provided by the Owner as required for use by KL
subcontractors in their preparation of Shop Drawings for the project.
7. This proposal is based Attachment #1 Drawing and Specification logs
8. The following Items are Excluded or Considered "By Owner":
a. Master Building Permit fees, Occupancy Permit fees, Impact fees, Connection fees and
Assessments.
b. Cost of utility usage and services to the site after meter installation.
c. Owner Direct Purchase (ODP) administration and tax savings, all sales tax is included.
d. FPL transformers, Primary Conduits and wire, and Deposits.
e. All work relating to the relocation of existing FPL vault (To be demolished) temporarily to
service apartments to the North of the project site. KL can assist with coordination but is

carrying no value in the Permit Set estimate for the temporary relocation or reconnection
within the new Vault of any utility. This estimate does include the value for the new
feeder conduits (Supplied by FPL) run encased in concrete from the existing hand -hole to
the new Vault location (E-602)..
f. Thermal break or insulation of elevated decks from conditioned spaces to non -
conditioned spaces (i.e. Ground floor parking to 2nd Floor Offices, Apparatus Bay to 3rd
Floor dormitories). This is assumed to have been considered by the Designer and included
with the thickness of the slab.
g. Fire Alarm Monitoring Service Cost.
h. Permanent Water Meters, Fees, and Deposits.
i. Cost relating to Radon Mitigation.
j. Provisions for Owner/Architect offices.
k. Advanced Commissioning and/or special testing engineer services. Included in this Permit
Set Estimate is normal commissioning requirements outlined on the contract drawings for
Mechanical and Electrical (i.e. Start-up, Lighting Controls, etc.)
I. As -Built survey, vibration damage to adjacent properties because of construction. Site
monitoring for auger cast pile operation is included as an allowance of $30,000.
m. Removal, relocations, and main line installations to building(s) point, including fiber
optics, natural gas (including meter), phone, cable, etc. These shall be provided by the
appropriate service provider.
n. Mock-ups rooms/units/structure not incorporated into the finish product.
o. FF&E is included as per Equipment Schedules indicated on the "Enlarged Floor Plans".
Allowance of $300,000 is carried by the for Owner supplied furniture. This value is not
included in the Estimate.
p. Material Testing Cost, Threshold and/or Special Inspectors and Inspection/Sequencing
Costs.
q. Removal, disposal, remediation, and premiums associated with unforeseen or unsuitable
soil conditions, hazardous materials, or other materials requiring a controlled
removal/disposal.
r. Any special labor rates that may be required by project location, funding, municipality
governance, etc. such as Davis Bacon Act.
s. All art and artwork, including artwork.

DIVISION 02 - SITE WORK
1. There is no work included outside of the designate property area other than work associated with
existing service tie-ins. This includes MOT associated with existing services.
2. The existing site below surface materials are assumed to be suitable and ready for new work.
There are no provisions for unforeseen conditions or unsuitable materials.
3. There is no work included for modifications or alterations to existing civil services for storm
drainage, domestic water and sanitary.
4. The Permit Set Estimate includes the four (S each) deep wells as located on C-105. The depth of
the 24" diameter wells is one hundred (100 If) lineal feet. Additional depth greater than 100 If will
added to the project cost.
5. The Brick Pavers shown on C-103 are included in the Permit Set Estimate. The pavers are set in
compacted sand. There is no mud set or concrete subbase.
6. There are no street or parking area modifications included other than what is shown on C-107, C-
108 & C-109.
7. The Permit Set Estimate does not include modifications to the existing street signalization.
8. The Permit Set Estimate does not include any asbestos abatement or mold removal. If discovered
this material must be tested and removed immediately. The owner will be notified immediately if
this occurs during construction. There are no provisions in the proposal to remove or abate these
items.
9. The augered-cast pilings are included in accordance a with the Geotechnical recommendations by
Terracon dated 7-10-21.

10. The existing concrete canopy shown on AD-100 will be removed. The Permit Set Estimate includes
a new concrete canopy to replicate the existing structure.
11. The existing "metered parking" and equipment will be removed by the City. This work is not
included in the Permit Set Estimate.
12. The Permit Set Estimate includes "Root Pruning" for existing trees indicated on LD-101. This work
is required for tree/ root protection which is impacted by new sitework such as building
foundations, concrete paving and new under utilities. There are trees which are excessively
impacted by the amount of root pruning and canopy thinning. The mature trees may not survive
the new proposed sitework and building foundations.
13. Tree to be "relocated" as shown on the Tree Disposition Plan "LD-101 are included in the Permit
Set Estimate. An Allowance for $265,000 is included. The maintenance of the relocated tree off -
site is not included in the Permit Set Estimate.
DIVISION 03 — CONCRETE
1. Alternate for S" slab on grade is not included. 10" structural SOG is included as shown on S2.10.
DIVISION 04 — MASONRY
1. The ground face veneer see item #Al2 on Building Elevations (see A-300 & A-301) is
included. The outside corners are premanufactured outside corner units instead of field
mitered corners.
DIVISION 05 — METALS
DIVISION 06 — MILLWORK
1. The plastic Laminate casework includes the interior elevations (A-400 thru A-419) and
millwork sections A-421.
2. The Kitchen Casework is included in the Food Service Equipment.
3. Watch Office locks: Allowance $15 each.
4. Dorms Locks: allowance $25 each and lock type based on location. Number plates
not included.
S. Officer Suite and ADA Officer Suite: Lock allowance $2S each.
6. Wardrobe lift (3 per dorm) included for ADA Dorm 319 & ADA Officer Suite 329A.
7. Pantry cabinets will be 48" wide (4' ILO 4'- 2-3/8").
DIVISION 07-THERMAL AND MOISTURE
1. Waterproofing and Joints Sealants for various existing exterior opening / components are
included.
DIVISION 08 - DOORS & WINDOWS
1. The exterior glazing is 1-5/16" insulated / laminated clear glass with "Low-E" Coating.
2. The exterior aluminum vertical fins shown on the East & West Elevation) see A-300 7 A-301 are
not a part of the window system. These are included in the Permit Set Estimate as ACP (aluminum
composite panels) features.

DIVISION 09 — FINISHES
EXTERIOR FINISHES
1. The exterior" Split faced CMU" Walls do not include sealer.
INTERIOR FINISHES
1. The Interior Wall Assemblies are included as indicated on Levels 1,2, &3 (see A-115 thru A-117)
and Wall Types shown on A-800 thru A-804.
2. Interior Ceiling Finishes are included as per Reflected Ceiling Plans (A200 thru A203)
3. The Interior Finishes (Floors & Walls) are included as indicated on ID-101 thru ID-103.
4. Minor Floor Prep is included. The is no "floor leveling" included in the 90% CD Permit Set Estimate.
5. Wall protection showed on Sheet G-112 not included.
6. ID-101, Note 8 says to provide corner guards at Gypsum Board Corner locations but they
aren't shown on plans and therefore excluded from price.
7. 1-1/2" Hunter XCI board in lieu of Thermax.
8. Denshield at walls to receive tile included.
9. No Integral Stucco included. Project will have regular stucco, painted.

1. The Contractor does not include any Artwork and/or Artwork allowance.
2. Office Furniture / Fixtures are not included by the Contractor.
3. The gym / training equipment indicated on the floor plan A-414 ins not included in the Permit Set
Estimate.
DIVISION 14 — CONVEYANCE
1. The elevator included in the Permit Set Estimate is based on Schindler #3300 MRL / 3500
lb capacity / 150 fpm with three stops. The interior finishes included the manufacturer's
standard cab finishes with heavy duty rubber flooring.

DIVISION 15 — MECHANICAL
Fire Protection
1. There are no modifications to existing water pressure or fire pump requirements.
2. There IS no "galvanized" steel sprinkler pipe in exposed areas.
Plumbing
The "Trench Drain" detail shown on P-501 is not included in the Plumbing Scope of Work. This
structure is included in the Civil Package.
HVAC
DIVISION 16 — ELECTRICAL
The Estimate includes empty underground conduit from the Southwest corner of the property to
the 2" Floor Traffic Signal Box. There is no signalization modifications or new traffic signals
included.

DAYCARE ALLOWANCE - BASIS OF ESTIMATE
August 15th, 2023
BASIS OF DESIGN
The Daycare Allowance is based on Chisholm Architects Fire Station #1 / Daycare Relocation Permit
drawings dated June 9, 2023 (June 19, 2023 and June 21, 2023 print date); July 26, 2023 Project
Narrative; and, the following qualifications and assumptions.
QUALIFIATIONS AND ASSUMPTIONS:
Due to the Programmatic -level of information contained in the above referenced documents, the
Daycare portion of the Fire Station project was included as an Allowance. With this understanding, we
offer the following supplemental qualifications and assumptions to the Miami Beach Firestation #1
project to help guide the reconciliation of allowance included in the Daycare Estimate.
1. Time is of the essence. Fire Station #1 project schedule (which includes the Day Care) is based on
the following NTP dates:
a. NTP#1 September 1", 2023: City of Miami Beach shall release modular building for fabrication
based on approved shop drawings ahead of State approval.
b. NTP#2 October 2"1, 2023: City of Miami Beach shall release Contractor for subcontracting and
procurement. It is the intent of our Agreement that Contractor, City of Miami Beach, and
Design Team shall collaborate in development of complete State Permit Documents by
October 2nd, 2023 that reconciles budget allowances provided in attached Miami Beach
Daycare — Allowance Estimate dated August 15, 2023.
c. NTP43 December 4th, 2023: City of Miami Beach shall release Contractor to commence
sitework with ability to obtain all required inspections. This will require an early release permit
package for sitework (exclusive of Day Care modular building installation). It is understood
that the Fire Station Construction Schedule is predicated on relocating the existing daycare to
the proposed Flamingo Park site by May 14, 2024. Accordingly, all required permits for the
Daycare modular building installation must be approved before January 3, 2024 for work to be
complete in time to avoid schedule impact and potential exposure to claim for delay on the
Fire Station project.
2. We have assumed import of 750cy to raise site in address of Project Narrative 6.a.
3. We have assumed the existing site has a minimum of 2500 psf soil bearing capacity.
4. We have included PVC skirting under trailer in lieu of aluminum requested in Project Narrative 5.m.

S. We assume plastic laminate furniture satisfies request for changing table (Project Narrative
Building 2 and 3).
6. We have included 20 empty j-boxes stubbed through the floor for future Low -Voltage. City of
Miami / Consultants shall notate on modular building shop drawings the desired location and
special mounting heights (i.e. TV) for incorporation into Subcontractor's sub -Permit Drawings.
Wiring, trim, and devices are assumed by others.
7. We exclude appliances.
8. We exclude lockers.
9. We exclude all permitting costs associated with this work as they are not known at this time.

MURAL SUBSTRATE ALLOWANCE - BASIS OF ESTIMATE

BASIS OF DESIGN
The Miami Beach Fire Station #1 - Mural Substrate Allowance is based on Bliss & Nyitray Apollo Mural
S-200 drawing and Structural Notes S-101 with Revision date of May 20', 2023 titled Permit Set;
Anticipated Design Narrative for Apollo Mural dated February 171h, 2023; and as further qualified
below.
QUALIFIATIONS AND ASSUMPTIONS:
1. The workscope of this Allowance includes mural substrate (perforated screen panel); subframing
for mural panel substrate; means of attachment to Structure; and, associated delegated
Engineering. The design criteria of the Apollo mural (assumed applied load of the art onto
perforated panel) to be provided by others.
2. We exclude the Apollo Artwork itself (understood to be in storage); the design/Engineering of or
means and method for attachment of artwork to perforated sheet aluminum substrate (assumed
by Artist); or, installation of the Artwork (including crating, transportation, or installation).
3. We assume Mural Substrate work will be performed within the scheduled duration of the Fire
Station project.
4. We assume Apollo Mural will be installed after TCO of the Fire Station.
5. We exclude "fins" (Keynote A09/A-300) illustrated in West Elevation.
