NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
PROPOSED EXPANSION OF LINCOLN ROAD GREEN MARKET CONCESSION
AREA TO INCLUDE THAT PORTION OF
LINCOLN ROAD BETWEEN WASHINGTON AND DREXEL AVENUES
NOTICE IS HEREBY given that the City of Miami Beach, Florida, will hold a Public Meetiug on
Sunday, May 16, 2004 at 10:00 a.m., in front of 420 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, Florida. The
purpose of this meeting is to discuss the proposed expansion of the Lincoln Road Green Market
(aJk/a fanner's market) Concession Area to include that portion of Lincoln Road between
Washington Avenue and Drexel Avenue.
History: The Market Company, Inc. (the "Market Company'') has been operating a Green
Market (a/k/afarmers market) in accordance with the terms of a Special Event Permitfor the
past several years, on Lincoln Road between Lenox and Washington Avenues. In order to
continue to provide the services and products in a ''farmer's market" scenario but allow for a
competitive bid process, the City of Miami Beach (the "City '') issued a Request for Proposals
for said services. Proposals were received and reviewed by an evaluation committee, and a
recommendation was made by the City Administration to award the contract to the Market
Company. Pursuant to said recommendation, the Mayor and City Commission approved a
Concession Agreement with the Market Company for the operation of a Green Market on
Lincoln Road, between Drexel Avenue and Lenox Avenue (but did not include that portion of
Lincoln Road between Washington and Drexel Avenues).
The intent of this Public Meeting is to obtain comments regarding the expansion ofthe Concession
Area to include that portion of Lincoln Road, between Washington and Drexel Avenues, in order for
the Market to continue to operate as it had been under the terms ofthe previously existing Special
Event Permit(s).
Members ofthe City Commission, as well as, members of other City Boards and Committees may be
in attendance and participate in discussions. ALL INTERESTED PARTIES are invited.
Inquiries concerning this meeting should be directed to the Office of Asset Management at (305) 673-7193.
