Dear Honorable Mayor and City Commission:
The Transportation, Parking and Bicycle-Pedestrian Facilities Committee (TPBPFC) held its
hybrid meeting on Monday, March 11, 2024, and passed the below motion:
Viable Solution to Replace Eliminated Bus Route 115
The Transportation, Parking, and Bicycle-Pedestrian Facilities Committee passed a motion
regarding Miami-Dade County Transit's decision to eliminate Bus Route 115.
We recommend that the City of Miami Beach Mayor and Commission urge the County to
solve the issue of the elimination of Bus Route 115, which has created hardships for Miami
Beach residents as well as employees of local business establishments and institutions,
including Mt. Sinai Hospital. We recommend the County provide two (2) high-capacity
vehicles that accommodate a minimum 12-15 passengers during peak hours, in addition
to the existing Freebee service.
As an advisory Committee, we urge the Mayor and City Commission to support this motion.
Sincerely,
Transportation, Parking & Bicycle-Pedestrian Facilities Committee
