Good afternoon, I apologize for not replying earlier. We would like to postpone the exhibition to November and Veterans Day. I discussed Memorial Day timing with Lissette and the Comms team, and their opinion was that such a project would be challenging to organize since there are so many things going on at Lummus Park by Air Sea Show. I also discussed this with Daniel Sommer this morning. He is familiar with this topic and is preparing the item for the Commission agenda. If you have any questions, it's best to reach out to him. LUMMUS PARK OUTDOOR CULTURAL GALLERY I MIAMI BEACH Page 03 LUMMUS PARK OUTDOOR GALLERY An open-air cultural gallery, easily accessible, free, and open to everyone, strategically located in the heart of the city, possesses unique appeals compared to traditional indoor galleries.A great example is the"Women Who Made a Difference"exhibition held for one month in March'23 at Lummus Park, drawing hundreds of visitors and residents daily. This success underscores the potential of such exhibitions to attract a diverse audience and foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of art and history. PROPOSAL • This proposal aims to establish the Lummus Park Outdoor Gallery as a year-round space hosting exhibitions on Miami Beach's history, art, culture, music, film, and architecture. Gallery will provide a dynamic and engaging experience for visitors and residents, allowing for the display of diverse and varied content. The display mechanics will feature permanent aluminum frames with interchangeable plates for art, similar to the - outdoor exhibitions held at Bal Harbour Beachwalk. This design facilitates easy installation and removal of artwork, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency. By introducing this concept, we aim to add another cultural layer to Lummus Park and Ocean Drive programming, creating a dedicated space for art lovers, history enthusiasts, and seasonal visitors while also promoting Miami Beach's cultural heritage and artistic community. An outdoor gallery of this nature will significantly contribute to positioning Miami Beach as a year-round hub for art and culture, extending beyond traditional seasonal events.
