Sustainability Committee Motions
Dear Honorable Mayor and City Commission,
The Sustainability Committee met on March 28, 2024 and passed the motions below:
The Sustainability Committee urges the City Commission to support funding for a field monitor to
ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability requirements as part of special events.
Motion passed: 5-1. (Michael Defilippi voted No)
The Sustainability Committee urges the City Commission to work with the Miami Beach Police
Department to address the sale of unregulated pouches of alcoholic drinks, with straws given that
plastic straws are prohibited citywide and these materials pollute the beaches and unregulated products
pose a safety hazard.
Motion passed by acclimation.
