SUBJECT: Addition of PayByPhone Mobile Payment App.
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC) is to advise the Mayor and City Commission that
effective April 1, 2024, the City introduced the PayByPhone application (app ), a second mobile
parking payment option to complement the existing ParkMobile app. This new addition provides
residents, employees, and visitors with an alternative means to pay for parking within city limits.
PayByPhone is widely recognized and utilized across Florida, including in various cities within
Miami-Dade County such as Miami, Coral Gables, and Sunny Isles Beach. Its availability on both
IOS and Android mobile operating systems/platforms ensures accessibility to a broad spectrum
of users. Notably, both ParkMobile and PayByPhone will share the same location number,
facilitating a seamless extension of payment options for our community.
The introduction of PayByPhone represents a positive step forward in our efforts to improve the
overall parking experience for residents and visitors alike. By diversifying our payment options
and leveraging established platforms, we demonstrate our commitment to innovation and
responsiveness to the evolving needs of our community. Additionally, in line with our commitment
to serving our residents, PayByPhone will offer waived transaction fees for residents, mirroring
the benefit already provided by ParkMobile.
To ensure a smooth deployment and optimal user experience for the PayByPhone app, April 1 st
marks the beginning of a soft launch phase. This period allows for extended testing and the
installation of new signage to promote awareness and usage.
