Project Title:Miami Beach Watersports Center Seawall&Dock Replacement
Total Estimated Cost: $1,654,580.96
Brief Description of Project:The proposed project aims to enhance public safety and preserve
the ecological integrity of the District's waterway channels by raising the seawall to 5.7 NAVD
(North American Vertical Datum) and constructing a new floating dock. The elevation
adjustment of the seawall is designed to mitigate the risks associated with rising sea levels,
storm surges, and erosion, providing crucial shoreline stabilization along the waterway. This
not only safeguards public spaces adjacent to the channels but also bolsters the resilience of the
community against environmental challenges. Simultaneously, the construction of a new
floating dock contributes to public accessibility and engagement, fostering recreational
opportunities. The combined efforts of seawall elevation and floating dock construction
demonstrate a comprehensive approach to enhancing the overall well-being and sustainability
of the District's waterway channels.
