A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO
ENGAGE A CONSULTANT TO CONDUCT A FEASIBILITY STUDY, AT A COST
NOT TO EXCEED $50,000, TO EXPLORE WAYS TO CREATE MORE
CONVENIENT DESIGNATED PARKING SPACES ALONG 19TH STREET TO
ACCOMMODATE VISITORS TO THE HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL OF THE
GREATER MIAMI JEWISH FEDERATION, THE MIAMI BEACH BOTANICAL
GARDEN, AND PRIDE PARK.
WHEREAS, the Holocaust Memorial of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, the Miami
Beach Botanical Garden, and Pride Park are important cultural and recreational assets within our
City, attracting visitors and residents alike; and
WHEREAS, the current lack of convenient street parking along 19th Street hinders
accessibility and diminishes the visitor experience for these significant landmarks; and
WHEREAS, providing designated parking, spaces along 19th Street would enhance
accessibility and convenience for visitors to the distinguished educational and recreational
spaces; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration is directed to engage a consultant to conduct a
feasibility study, at a cost not to exceed $50,000, to explore ways to create designated parking
spaces along 19th Street to accommodate visitors to the Holocaust Memorial, the Botanical
Garden, and Pride.Park; and
WHEREAS, the feasibility study shall examine various options, including, but not limited
to repurposing existing space for parking.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby direct the City Administration to engage a .consultant to conduct a feasibility
study, at a cost not to, exceed $50,000, to explore ways to create more convenient designated
parking spaces along 19th Street to accommodate visitors to the Holocaust Memorial of the
Greater Miami Jewish Federation, the Miami Beach Botanical Garden, and Pride Park.'
