Resolution 2024-33073RESOLUTION NO., 2024-33073 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2024-32936, ESTABLISHING THE AD HOC PERMITTING PROCESS IMPROVEMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO ALLOW THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION TO WAIVE THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE PLAN REVIEWER AND INSPECTOR MEMBERS AND TO APPOINT RESIDENTS AT -LARGE WITH OTHER EXPERIENCE DEEMED RELEVANT BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION. WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission established, via Resolution No. 2024- 32936 ("the Resolution"), an Ad Hoc Building Department Processing Improvement Advisory Committee ("the Ad Hoc PPIA Committee") comprised of residents and business representatives; and WHEREAS, the Ad Hoc PPIA Committee's primary objective is to provide recommendations to improve the Building Department's permitting processes and customer experiences; and WHEREAS, the purpose, composition, power, and duties of the Ad Hoc PPIA Committee are set forth in .Exhibit B to the Resolution creating the Committee; and WHEREAS, the Resolution currently sets forth qualifications for the Plan Reviewer and Inspector members that have been challenging to satisfy with qualified candidates; and WHEREAS, this amendment to the Resolution allows the Mayor and City Commission to appoint a resident at -large as an alternative to the Plan Reviewer and Inspector members to ensure that all positions on the Ad Hoc PPIA Committee are filled; and WHEREAS, the amendments set forth below are necessary to accomplish all of the above objectives. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Resolution No. 2024-32936, establishing the`Ad Hoc Permitting Process Improvement Advisory Committee, is amended to allow the Mayor and City Commission to waive the qualifications for the Plan Reviewer and Inspector members and to appoint residents at -large -with other experience deemed relevant by the Mayor and City Commission.
