SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT OF AN EX-OFFICIO MEMBER TO THE DESIGN
REVIEW BOARD
It is a pleasure to inform the City Commission that I have appointed Mr. Andrew Batavia as the
Barrier Free Environment Committee's representative to the Miami Beach Design Review Board
(DRB), as ex-officio member for a term of two (2) years (terminating December 31,1999).
Mr. Batavia's willingness to make this commitment is most appreciated. The expertise he will bring
to the Board will ensure sensitivity to the needs of individuals with disabilities. Attached, for your
information, is a copy ofthe letter appointing Mr. Batavia to the DRB and his resume, as well as the
recommendation from the Barrier Free Environment Committee.
