SUBJECT: G.O. Bond Oversight Committee Motion – Fire Station No. 1
The purpose of this Letter to the Commission (“LTC”) is to inform the Mayor and City Commission of
the motion made at the July 18, 2024 G.O. Bond Oversight Committee meeting, regarding the Fire
Station 1 Project.
The Committee made a motion recommending to the City Commission to proceed with the Fire
Station 1 Project at the South Shore Community Center site, and not proceed with the Flamingo
Park location, regardless of the Referendum, because of concerns over the costs spent to date,
significant cost increase, and reduction of fire safety services over the next three years (due to
project delays).

Motion seconded by Jack Glottmann
Motion passed (6 members in favor, Bruce Halpryn abstained)
