SUBJECT:Convention Center Advisory Board Motion
The purpose of this Letter to Commission ("L TC")is to inform the Mayor and Commission of a
motion made and unanimously approved by the Convention Center Advisory Board (CCAB)on
August 13,2024.
Members present:Robin Jacobs (Chair),Antonio Hernandez (Vice-Chair),John Aleman,Marc
Gidney,Prakash Kumar,Chris Rollins,and Lee Zimmerman.
Motion:The CCAB recommends the Mayor and Commission amend the Miami Beach
Special Events Guidelines to authorize the City Manager the discretion to permit
utilization of Pride Park by Miami Beach Convention Center clients for commercial
events beyond seventy-five (75)days annually,where the economic and community
impact is assessed to be in the best interest of the city.
