Mayor Meiner and City Commissioners, The Committee on the Homeless supports September 11,2024 Commission Meeting Agenda Item C7 LA RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,FLORIDA,ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND NEIGHBORHOOD QUALITY OF LIFE COMMITTEE ("PSNQLC"),MADE AT ITS JULY 10,2024 MEETING,TO ESTABLISH AFTER-HOURS LIVE ASSISTANCE FOR HOMELESS OUTREACH SERVICES. The Committee on the Homeless believes that establishing an Afterhours live assistance line to offer extended support for individuals experiencing homelessness who cannot seek help in person would act as a crucial intermediary,bridging the gap in available resources during the times when the Homeless Outreach Services walk-in center is closed for services.
