BEACH,FLORIDA,ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND
NEIGHBORHOOD QUALITY OF LIFE COMMITTEE ("PSNQLC"),MADE AT ITS JULY 10,2024
MEETING,TO ESTABLISH AFTER-HOURS LIVE ASSISTANCE FOR HOMELESS OUTREACH

The Committee on the Homeless believes that establishing an Afterhours live assistance line to
offer extended support for individuals experiencing homelessness who cannot seek help in person
would act as a crucial intermediary, bridging the gap in available resources during the times when
the Homeless Outreach Services walk-in center is closed for services.
Additionally, the Committee on the Homeless also supports September 11,2024 Commission
Meeting Agenda Item R5 DAN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE

The Committee on the Homeless wholeheartedly supports the Mayor and City Commission's
initiative to address the "Public Camping and Public Sleeping"Florida Statute with compassion.
We commend the Administration's steadfast dedication to providing necessary services for
individuals experiencing homelessness, especially as these services become crucial for those who
will no longer be permitted to sleep in public spaces.
Thank you for your service to the homeless population and the City of Miami Beach.
Respectfully,
Committee on the Homeless
