Members in attendance:Damian Gallo (Chair),Nicholas Caliri (Vice Chair),Jeevan Tillit, Jordan Ronson,Saul Gross,Frederic Karlton,and Anabel Llopis. MOTION #1 -Improving technology used for the permitting process: Background:During its meeting held August 13,2024,the Ad Hoc Permitting Process Improvement Advisory Committee discussed technological improvements to the City's current permitting process and requested representatives of Tyler Technologies ("Tyler")to attend the committee meeting scheduled for September 17,2024.During the discussion,the representatives mentioned that the City could participate in a business process review meeting hosted by Tyler to delve deeper into the technological issues the Committee,city staff,and end users face while using Tyler's products. Motion:The Ad Hoc Permitting Process Improvement Advisory Committee made a motion to advise the City of Miami Beach Administration (Building Department and relevant permitting process departments/disciplines)to accept Tyler Technologies'invitation and schedule a date as soon as possible to participate in a business process review meeting. Motion made by:Vice Chair Nicholas Caliri Motion seconded by:Frederic Karlton Motion passed:Unanimously (7-0) MOTION 42 --Increasing involvement of private providers: Background:In previous meetings,the Committee discussed the advantages and disadvantages of enhancing the involvement of private providers to improve the permitting process and creating a separate review process for large developments and large-scale projects. Motion:The Ad Hoc Permitting Process Improvement Advisory Committee made a motion to engage with city staff,industry leaders,and other stakeholders to discuss and generate recommendations for improvement as they relate to private provider businesses and large-scale projects,which will be summarized and brought to the Committee for a formal discussion.
