Resolution 2024-33253 RESOLUTION NO. 2024-33253 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF UP TO TWO (2) ADDITIONAL PARKING PASSES TO EACH ELECTED OFFICIAL FOR THE USE BY RESIDENTS WHO VOLUNTEER WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach values the contributions of its residents who volunteer their time and efforts to enhance the quality of life within our community; and WHEREAS, these volunteers play a vital role in supporting a wide range of community initiatives, events, and programs, thereby fostering civic engagement and contributing to the overall improvement of our City; and WHEREAS, in recognition of the importance of volunteerism and to encourage continued community involvement, it is in the public interest to provide adequate parking accommodations to these dedicated individuals; and WHEREAS, it is proposed that each elected official be authorized to allocate up to 2 (two) parking passes annually to residents who volunteer within the community, with such passes valid for up to one year, or until terminated by the Mayor or respective City Commissioner, and subject to renewal as deemed appropriate by the Commissioner; and WHEREAS, these parking passes will be issued as a gesture of appreciation for the volunteers' commitment to the community, thereby facilitating their ongoing participation in volunteer activities and fostering a stronger, more engaged citizenry; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission reserves the right to review and modify the issuance of these parking passes at its discretion to ensure that they continue to serve the public interest. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby authorize the allocation of up to 2(two)parking passes to each elected official for use by residents who volunteer within the community.
