LTC 443-2024 Adobe Max - The Creativity ConferenceMIAMI BEACH OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER NO.LTC#LETTER TO COMMISSION TO: FROM: DATE: SUBJECT: Mayor Steven Meiner and Mem~~o~ssion Eric Carpenter,City Manager October 4,2024 Adobe Max -The Creativity Conference The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC)is to announce and provide information regarding the Adobe Max -The Creativity Conference event,taking place in the Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC)from October 14-16,2024. Adobe Max -The Creativity Conference is a three-day private event and is often referred to as the world's leading creative conference.Hosted by Adobe Systems,this premier tech event will attract approximately 10,000 global creative professionals and enthusiasts, utilizing 19,000 hotel room nights including 4,200 room nights during peak periods.This is the first Adobe Max conference to take place in Miami Beach,and it is expected to generate $22 million in positive economic impact to hotels,small businesses,restaurants, shops,art and cultural venues,and more. Adobe Max will utilize the entire MBCC,as well as portions of the City Center campus including the Miami Beach Botanical Garden,Collins Canal Park,the Rum Room and Venu.The event will host fenced outdoor activations for registered attendees including a lounge experience with interactive exhibits,art displays,and food and beverage service. All music entertainment,including a Tuesday,October 15 concert,will take place inside the MBCC. The outdoor activations will be authorized under a Special Event Permit to include a full closure of 19"Street from Meridian Avenue to Convention Center Drive,and a partial closure of Convention Center Drive from Dade Boulevard to 18"Street (as shown below). The closures will be in effect from Friday,October 11,2024 at 8:00 AM to Wednesday, October 16,2024 at 6:00 PM.Pride Park will remain fully accessible to the public.A Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)plan will be deployed to facilitate traffic flow during the event. The Special Event Permit application,for the outside activations,was reviewed at the September 19,2024 Community Review meeting with no objections.Event details have been shared with the Palm View Neighborhood Association.
