Event: Commissioner Mark Samuelian Memorial Scholastic Chess
Tournament
Date: November 3, 2024
Time: 10:00 a.m. -3:30 p.m. (Check-in at 9:30 a.m.)
Location: Scott Rakow Youth Center (2700 Sheridan Avenue)
Fee: Free
Open to aspiring chess players in grades K to 12. The tournament offers trophies for up
to 10 places in each division (K-5 and Middle / High School). This tournament is free, but
pre-registration is required. There will be no registrations on the day of the tournament.
The tournament will also offer tables available for open play. This tournament is being held
in memory of Commissioner Samuelian, an avid chess player and chess advocate. To

This event is open to all seniors 55+ in the community and their families. Enjoy a fun,
family-friendly afternoon discovering the amenities of the Scott Rakow Youth Center. The
event will offer music, bingo, bowling, games, snacks, and more. Space is limited. RSVP
in person at North Shore Park, Scott Rakow Youth Center, Flamingo Park, or via email to
