MH/AK G� Docusign Envelope ID :5EF01AB6-C738-491A-A8D6-88B8DFB70094 MIAMI BEA CH RISING ABOVE Neighborhood Resilience Projects Advisory Committee Committee Members Clare McCord,Chair Amy Knowles,Liaison Members: Clare McCord (Chair,present),Curt Dyer (Vice-Chair,present),Alon Alexander (present),Julie Basner (absent),Karin Matos (present),Ron Starkman (present),Galen Treuer (absent) TO Honorable Mayor Steven Meiner and Members of the City Commission FROM:Clare McCord,Neighborhood Resilience Projects Advisory Committee Chair DATE:October 23,2024 SUBJECT:Neighborhood Resilience Projects Advisory Committee Motion The Neighborhood Resilience Projects Advisory Committee (NRPAC)met on October 23, 2024 and passed the following motion: In response to City Commission Referral on July 24,2024,in consideration of the 2018 ULI recommendations regarding the integration of blue and green strategies,and resonant with the City's commitment to best practices and innovative resiliency initiatives,NRPAC submits the following recommendation: NRPAC recommends that the commission work with City staff to formalize the design process in order to implement a policy for all stormwater infrastructure,Neighborhood Improvement,and parks projects in excess of a certain budgetary amount that would require that during preliminary design phase the engineer of record or additional consultant must provide a formal deliverable that presents design alternatives that include the implementation of blue green stormwater infrastructure strategies. Although currently the City's concept plan prioritizes such solutions,no clear policy direction exists to support their inclusion.
