OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST TWANISHA "TEETEE" TERRY VISIT TO THE
FLAMINGO PARK AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
The purpose of this Letter to Commission {L TC) is to celebrate the accomplishments of local
athlete and gold medal Olympian Twanisha 'TeeTee" Terry who will be visiting our after school
program at Flamingo Park on November 13, 2024 from 3:00 -4:00 p.m. Activities will include,
music, an inspirational message for the children, photos, and of course, relays on the track!
Tee Tee is a homegrown athlete from Miami who attended middle school at our very own Nautilus
Middle School, high school at Northwestern Senior High School, and college at the University of
Southern California where she honed her track and field abilities. She has earned two World
Athletics Championship gold medals as part of the U.S. Women's 4x100 meter relays at the 2022
and 2023 World Athletics Championships. At the age of 19 she ran the 100 meter in 10.99 seconds
becoming the joint fourth fastest under-20 woman in history.
Most recently, Tee Tee is a proud winner of the Olympic Gold for Team USA in the women's 4x100
relay competition at this year's 2024 Paris Olympics.
Her ties to Miami Beach run strong as her father Antwan Terry is a long-time member of the City
of Miami Beach family having worked in the Parking Department and is now with the team at Parks
and Recreation. Mr. Terry is very proud of his daughter's accomplishments and we are thrilled to
have TeeTee celebrate her Olympic Gold Medal with our Parks and Recreation Department after
school program participants.
