With an impressive background in civil engineering, program and project management, and municipal administration, David embodies the skills, dedication, and vision needed for this vital role. His extensive experience, paired with his leadership abilities and commitment to community development, make him an exceptional fit for this position. Mr. Martinez brings nearly four decades of experience in both the public and private sectors. He has served as Interim Assistant City Manager for almost seven months, during which time he has consistently demonstrated an ability to connect with and motivate teams, inspire collaboration, and cultivate an inclusive environment that encourages innovative solutions. In his previous role as Director of the Office of Capital Improvement Projects in Miami Beach, he honed his expertise in managing multi-million-dollar, cross-departmental capital projects. With over 13 years at the City, he has showcased his talent not only for managing significant projects but also for fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes that benefit the entire community. Throughout his career, David has shown an unwavering commitment to excellence in every project he undertakes. His background includes directing construction operations for a national general contractor and consulting as a forensic engineer, giving him a well-rounded understanding of complex infrastructure projects and quality control. His qualifications-a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, an MBA, and a Professional Engineer license-equip him to approach every challenge with both technical insight and strategic thinking. Additionally, as a LEED Accredited Professional, he underscores his commitment to sustainable and forward­ thinking practices that align with the City's long-term vision. In addition to his qualifications, David possesses a genuine passion for public service and the advancement of community well-being. His interpersonal skills, intellectual curiosity, and results­ oriented approach make him a natural leader. I am confident that Mr. Martinez's appointment as Assistant City Manager will bring substantial value to the organization, ensuring the effective and efficient realization of city initiatives.
