A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE ADMINISTRATION TO INSTALL
NEIGHBORHOOD WELCOMING SIGNAGE AT THE MAIN ENTRANCES TO
THE NAUTILUS NEIGHBORHOOD; IDENTIFY AND ALLOCATE FUNDS FROM
THE APPROPRIATE BUDGETARY SOURCES FOR THE DESIGN,
FABRICATION, AND INSTALLATION OF THE SIGNAGE IN AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED $75,000; AND FURTHER, WORK WITH THE SPONSORING
COMMISSIONER ON THE DESIGN OF THE SIGNAGE.
WHEREAS, the Nautilus neighborhood holds significant cultural and architectural value
within the Miami Beach community; and
WHEREAS, the general boundaries of the Nautilus neighborhood are defined as follows:
properties fronting the south side of 42nd Street on the south, properties fronting the west side
of Nautilus Drive on the west, the Surprise Waterway on the north, and the Biscayne Waterway
on the east; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission desire to direct the Administration to install
neighborhood welcoming signage at the main entrances to the Nautilus neighborhood to promote
cultural heritage and tourism in our City, as well as a sense of community within the Nautilus
neighborhood.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the. Mayor and City
Commission hereby direct the Administration to install neighborhood welcoming signage at the
main entrances to the Nautilus neighborhood; identify and allocate funds from the appropriate
budgetary sources for the design, fabrication, and installation of the signage in an amount not to
exceed $75,000; and further, work with the sponsoring Commissioner on the design of the
signage.
