MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A DONATION OF A
2014 E-Z-GO EXPRESS S4 GOLF CART, HAVING AN APPROXIMATE VALUE OF
$3,825.00, TO MIAMI BEACH NAUTILUS MIDDLE SCHOOL, IN SUPPORT OF ITS

BACKGROUNDIHISTORY
At the request of Commissioner Laura Dominguez, the above -referenced Resolution is submitted
for consideration by the Mayor and City Commission at the December 11, 2024, Commission
meeting.
ANALYSIS
Miami Beach Nautilus Middle School is in need of a golf cart to augment security on its campus.
The City's Facilities and Fleet Management Department (the "Department") periodically
decommissions older vehicles and slates them for auction. In accordance with Ordinance 2002-
3372, regarding surplus stock, the Department identified a 2014, E-Z-Go Express S4 golf
cart slated for auction, and which may be donated to support this effort. The proposed golf cart
was selected from equipment that has already been replaced and therefore scheduled for surplus.
The estimated surplus value is $3,825.00 based on the average surplus value recently received
at auction.
The donated golf cart will play a crucial role in enhancing security and operational efficiency at
the Miami Beach Nautilus Middle School. Given the open layout of the campus, the golf cart will
enable administrators and security personnel to quickly and effectively monitor the large parking
lots, open fields, and other expansive areas. This will ensure swift responses to potential safety
concems and allow for better visibility of security presence, providing peace of mind to parents
who prioritize school campus safety.
