Follow up Q&A - 72nd Street Community Center
Follow up Q&A following January 14, 2025 Presentation on 72nd Street Community Center
How much has been spent on the project to date?
- The project cost incurred to date is approximately $5M and includes Feasibility Study,
Design Criteria Package (DCP), Design Build Process , Architectural / Engineering (A/E)
design, Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) constructability / cost estimate , and CIP
management fees.
At the 30% Design, what is the cost of the Aquatics component?
- The Aquatics Construction Cost from the 30% Cost Estimate is approximately $34.3M
What is the output of the Photovoltaics ?
- This facility will incorporate a solar power system to supply electricity to specific building
components, including general lighting, means of egress lighting, and perimeter/security
lighting. The system will consist of essential components such as solar panels, support
structures/mounting brackets, inverters, and control panels.
o The initial system design (as per the 30% CD Set) was estimated to generate
approximately 100 kilowatts of power, with output subject to weather variations.
o Given the addition of the new program, the system's expected output will require
reassessment.
o As the design progresses, further collaboration with the city will be crucial to
precisely define the system's requirements.
