95-21656 RESORESOLUTION NO. 95-21656 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE CONFIRMATION OF PARKING DIRECTOR FRANCIS J. DEL MONACO JR., PURSUANT TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH CHARTER. Whereas, pursuant to the requirements of Article IV, Section 4.02 of the City of Miami Beach Charter, the City Manager shall appoint all directors of the several departments now existing, or to be created, with the consent of the Mayor and City Commission; and, Whereas, the Manager wishes to appoint Francis J. Del Monaco Jc as Parking Director and would request that the Mayor and City Commission Confirm the appointment in compliance with the requirements of the City Charter. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Francis J. Del Monaco Jr. is confirmed as the Parking Director. Del Monaco Jr. to become the Parking Director for the City of Miami Beach be adopted. BACKGROUND: Mr. Del Monaco brings with him to the City of Miami Beach over 14 years of experience in Municipal Parking Administration. Mr. Del Monaco's most recent experience is from the City of West Palm Beach, where he has served as the Director of Parking since October 1989. In that Capacity he devo'nped standards of operation and directed the management of all financial activities, including the development and maintenance of programs and systems. Prior to this, Mr. Del Monaco was the Executive Director of the City of New Brunswick, New Jersey, Parking Authority from July 1986 to September 1989. From March 1982 to July 1986 he served as the Assistant Director of Parking for the Town of Morristown, New Jersey. From September 1980 to March 1982 he served as an Operation Analyst for the City of Paterson, New Jersey, Parking Authority. Since 1984, Mr. Francis J. Del Monaco has been a member of the Institutional and Municipal Parking Congress and has served on the Board of Directors. He is also a Certified Administrator of Public Parking Designation and a member of the Florida Parking Association. CONCLUSION: It is a great pleasure to announce that Francis J. Del Monaco has accepted the position of Parking Director subject to confirmation by the City Commission. For your review and information, attached is a copy of Mr. Del Monaco's resume.
