results for the Point in Time (PIT} Census conducted on January 23-24, 2025, as noted in L TC

As recommended by the Homeless Trust, for data analysis, the City should compare current PIT
Census results to the census that was conducted approximately one (1) year prior. According to
the PIT results, the City of Miami Beach has experienced a 31% reduction in unsheltered
homelessness since the previously comparable PIT Census was conducted in January 2024, when
the unsheltered homeless population count was 154.
During the count, temperatures in Miami Beach ranged from about 53-55 degrees. On the morning
of January 23, 2025, prior to the start of the count, the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust
activated cold weather emergency services, offering shelter placement for all individuals e)4cept
sex offenders when temperatures, or the "feel-like" temperature, in the county drop below 50
degrees. As part of this activation, the City's Homeless Outreach Services Division placed four ( 4)
individuals in shelters and assisted three (3) individuals in relocating to another city or state.
Prior to the Homeless Trust's PIT Census, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2024-
33434, directing the Administration to carry out an emergency head count of unhoused individuals
