We recommend our elected officials rename the City's Beachwalk to "Beachpath." What began as a wooden boardwalk between 23rd and 45th Streets, the Miami Beach Beachwalk has transformed into a modern,multi-modal,shared path for non-motorized means of transportation. The Beachwalk is part of the Atlantic Greenway Network, funded by both the Greenways Master Plan and the G.O.Bond.The Atlantic Greenway Network promotes non-motorized means of transportation methods along the Eastern Seaboard. The Beachwalk has become a hub for active mobility users and a popular destination for locals and visitors. The TPBPFC feels that renaming it "Beach path"would better reflect its expanded purpose beyond pedestrian use and support future growth and funding. As an advisory Committee,we urge the Mayor and City Commission to support this motion. Sincerely, Transportation,Parking &Bicycle-Pedestrian Facilities Committee
