The purpose of this Letter to Commission (L TC) is to provide information on the Parks and Recreation Department's March 2025 Special Events. Please see below for event details.
Event: Joe Tom Easley Plaque Unveiling Ceremony Date: Monday, March 3, 2025 Time: 4:00 p.m.
Location: Pride Park (1809 Meridian Avenue)
Join us as we unveil a plaque honoring Joe Tom Easley on Monday, March 3, 2025 4:00 p.m. at Pride Park. Joe Tom Easley, who passed away in February of 2022, was a leading national civil and gay rights activist, a noted attorney instrumental in getting "don't ask/don't tell" repealed, and a fierce advocate for historic preservation, serving on the board of the Miami Design Preservation League for many years.

The City of Miami Beach will be hosting an Art Gallery Night where adult program participants from the ceramics and fine arts program will showcase their artwork. Refreshments and snacks will be served. All are welcome.

To celebrate Benito Juarez's life and accomplishments, the City will be hosting an event filled with
music, guest speakers, cafecito, and much more. The ceremony will commence at 4:00 p.m.
Coffee and food will be available beginning at 5:00 p.m.
