Resolution 2025-33532RESOLUTION NO.2025-33532 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,FLORIDA,AUTHORIZING A $5,000 SPONSORSHIP FOR THE EXEMPLARY WOMEN AWARDS EXHIBIT TO BE INSTALLED IN LUMMUS PARK ALONG THE OCEAN WALK IN CELEBRATION OF WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH IN MARCH 2025. WHEREAS,the Exemplary Women Awards Exhibit is a joint collaboration between the Miami Beach Commission for Women and the Miami Design Preservation League;and WHEREAS,this year's exhibit will feature ten giant placards honoring women from diverse fields,increased in size to 4 feet by 4 feet,celebrating individuals who have made significant contributions to the City of Miami Beach and,in some cases,the world;and WHEREAS,all honorees were selected by the Miami Beach Commission for Women and have a personal relationship with Miami Beach;and WHEREAS,this will be the fourth year of this highly successful outdoor exhibit, with last year's display viewed by at least 500,000 residents and visitors,bringing positive publicity to South Beach;and WHEREAS,the $5,000 sponsorship will be used to cover graphic design fees, printing,installation,and a reception for honorees and invited guests,which will be held at the Miami Design Preservation League;and WHEREAS,the 2025 honorees are: •Twanisha "Tee Tee"Terry,Gold Medal Winning Olympic Sprinter •Michelle Bernstein,James Beard Foundation Award-Winning Chef •Sophie Ringel,Environmentalist and Clean Miami Beach Founder •Belkys Nerey,Emmy Award-Winning Journalist •Tracy Young,Grammy Award-Winning DJ •Digna Abella,Miami Beach's and Miami-Dade's First Woman Fire Chief •Dr.Leslie Baumann,Best-Selling Author and Skin Care Expert •Judy Blume,Internationally Known Award-Winning Writer •Toby Lerner Ansin,Miami City Ballet Founder •Dr.Deborah Briggs,Vice President of Arts and Community Engagement at the Betsy Hotel. NOW THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,FLORIDA,that the Mayor and City Commission hereby authorize a $5,000 sponsorship for the Exemplary Women Awards Exhibit to be installed in Lummus Park along the Ocean Walk in celebration of Women's History Month in March 2025.
