SUBJECT:Evaluation Committee Relative to Request for Qualifications (RFQ)No.2024-524-
DF for Professional Design Services for the North Beach Town Center (North
Shore D)Neighborhood Improvement Project
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC)is to update the Mayor and City Commission on
the status of Request for Qualifications (RFQ)No.2024-524-DF.The RFQ seeks to select a firm
for professional design services for the right-of-way improvements in the North Shore D
neighborhood to provide complete design and construction documents and related services
necessary to implement the Project.
Proposals pursuant to this RFQ were received on November 22,2024.The responsive proposals
will be reviewed by the Evaluation Committee in accordance with the criteria established in the
RFQ.On December 12,2024,L TC 54 7-2024 notified the City Commission of the Evaluation
Committee appointed to review proposals received in response to the RFQ.However,changes to
the Evaluation Committee are necessary to address staff availability.
I have appointed the following individuals to serve on the Evaluation Committee:
•Giancarlo Pena,Assistant City Engineer,Public Works Department
•Ghassan Choueiry,Senior Transportation Engineer,Transportation &Mobility
Department
•Jay Fink,Deputy Director,Public Works Department
•David Gomez,Interim Director,Office of Capital Improvement Projects
•Amy Knowles,Chief Resilience Officer,Environment and Sustainability Department
I have also appointed the following individuals as alternates:
•Cristina Ortega,City Engineer,Public Works Department
•Maria Cerna,Assistant Director,Office of Capital Improvement Projects
•Mariela Paez-Castillo,Planning and Design Manager,Public Works Department
