CITY OF MIAMI BEACH RECIPIENT OF TWO PRESTIGIOUS AMERICAN
PUBLIC WORKS ASSOCIATION (APWA) FLORIDA CHAPTER AWARDS.
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (L TC) is to formally announce and celebrate the City of Miami Beach's achievement in winning two (2) prestigious American Public Works Association (APWA) Florida Chapter Awards: 1) State and Branch Project of the Year in the category for Water/Wastewater; and 2) Branch Project of the Year in the category for Beautification/Landscaping.
The Water/Wastewater Award: highlights the City's commitment to enhancing infrastructure resilience, improving water distribution systems, and ensuring long-term sustainability for residents and businesses. The 41 st Street Water Main Replacement Project was a critical initiative aimed at upgrading aging infrastructure, increasing system reliability, and enhancing water quality through the installation of modernized water mains.
The Beautification/Landscaping Award: highlights the City's commitment to enhancing landscape aesthetics for residents and those driving through the City with the Indian Creek Drive Landscaping and Pedestrian Pathway. The project heightens pedestrian experience for those wanting to enjoy views of the waterway and reconnect with nature.
The City of Miami Beach is proud to receive this recognition from the APWA Florida Chapter, reflecting the hard work and dedication of our Public Works team, project engineers, and all stakeholders involved. This accomplishment underscores the City's ongoing efforts to implement innovative solutions that improve essential public services.
