RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ELECTING COMMISSIONER DAVID
SUAREZ, GROUP V, AS VICE -MAYOR, FOR A TERM COMMENCING ON
APRIL 1, 2025, AND TERMINATING ON JULY 31, 2025.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission established a policy of rotating the
position of Vice -Mayor every four months, and the next Vice -Mayor Group is Group V; and
WHEREAS, the term for the next Vice -Mayor is April 1, 2025 through July 31, 2025,
and Commissioner David Suarez is next in the rotation to serve as Vice -Mayor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Commissioner David
Suarez is hereby elected as Vice -Mayor, for a term commencing on April 1, 2025 through
July 31, 2025.

RECOMMENDATION
BACKGROUND/HISTORY
ANALYSIS
The Mayor and City Commission established a policy of rotating the position of Vice -Mayor every
four (4) months. Since 1994, the rotation has been by Commission Group number in the following
sequence, Group I, II, III, IV, V, and VI. Based on this direction, the next Vice -Mayor Group is
Group V. The term for the next Vice -Mayor is April 1, 2025 through July 31, 2025. Commissioner
David Suarez is next in the rotation to serve as Vice -Mayor.
