RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING A$5,000 SPONSORSHIP FOR THE
FIRST MIAMI BEACH PET PARADE TO BE HELD ON MARCH 29, 2025, AT
LUMMUS PARK BETWEEN 14TH STREET AND OCEAN DRIVE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach has long supported initiatives that promote
community engagement, family-friendly events, and cultural vibrancy; and
WHEREAS, the first Miami Beach Pet Parade (the Event) is scheduled to be held on
March 29, 2025, at Lummus Park, located between 14th Street and Ocean Drive; and
WHEREAS, the Event will feature a variety of fun and exciting pet-related activities,
including the Deco Pet & Owner Dress Up Contest, the Most Unique Pets Contest, and the Pet
Talent Competition Contest, which are expected to attract pet owners and attendees from
across the City and beyond; and
WHEREAS, the Event has garnered support from the Ocean Drive Association (ODA),
and will be organized under the ODA's Master Permit, which includes taking care of the
necessary permitting fees for the Event; and
WHEREAS, the event organizer has requested a sponsorship in the amount of$5,000 to
cover out-of-pocket costs associated with the event; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission recognizes the value of this Event in fostering
community involvement and enhancing the City's reputation as a pet-friendly and family-
oriented destination.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby authorize a $5,000 sponsorship for the First Miami Beach Pet Parade to be
held on March 29, 2025, at Lummus Park, located between 14th Street and Ocean Drive.
