RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A ONE-TIME MATCHING GRANT IN
THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $20,000 TO THE LINCOLN ROAD BUSINESS
IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, INC. ("LINCOLN ROAD BID") FOR PRIDE
ACTIVATIONS ON LINCOLN ROAD IN HONOR OF 2025 MIAMI BEACH PRIDE,
AND FURTHER, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE LINCOLN ROAD BID IN THE FORM
OF THE CITY'S STANDARD GRANT AGREEMENT TO MEMORIALIZE THE
TERMS OF THE GRANT.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is committed to celebrating diversity, inclusivity, and
the LGBTQ+ community through Miami Beach Pride and other related activations; and
WHEREAS, the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District (LRBID) has committed to
investing over$20,000 in art installations in celebration of Pride 2025, with the goal of launching
the exhibits from late March through the end of June; and
WHEREAS, these activations will include two large-scale sculptures—one in the fountain
at the 700 block of Lincoln Road and another on the 800 block—creating visually engaging and
symbolic representations of Pride in the heart of Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, the installations will be located on public rights-of-way and will serve as an
impactful and artistic expression of the City's ongoing commitment to inclusivity and diversity while
enhancing the vibrancy of Lincoln Road as a cultural and commercial hub; and
WHEREAS, in addition to the sculptures, the LRBID seeks to further elevate the visual
impact of the installations by incorporating graphic sleeves for planters and bollards along Lincoln
Road (as illustrated in Exhibit A attached to this Resolution), reinforcing the celebration of Pride
throughout the district, and is seeking a matching grant from the City in the amount of$20,000;
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to support the LRBID's efforts by providing a
one-time matching grant in the amount of$20,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby approve a one-time matching grant in the total amount of $20,000 to the
Lincoln Road Business Improvement District, Inc. ("Lincoln Road BID") for Pride activations on
Lincoln Road in honor of 2025 Miami Beach Pride, and further, authorize the City Manager and
City Clerk to execute an agreement with the Lincoln Road Bid in the form of the city's standard
grant agreement to memorialize the terms of the grant.
