Animal Welfare Committee Strategy

(1) Approval of prior meeting minutes – January 14, 2025
(2) Cat Program Coordinator Update – HOLLY

**Note TNVR numbers have not been submitted from our trappers yet.
(3) Expand the City of Miami Beach Cat Program – Presentation by: Danna Stillman
(4) Add Florida Law Chapter 828.13 (Abandonment of animals) to our CMB law.

(5) Feeding after notification for trapping ordinance
Trappers are experiencing issues with feeders who do not withhold food after they have been
notified about a trapping schedule. Discuss possible addition to ordinance about issuing fines for
interfering with trapping by feeding.
(6) Update to MB Cat Program Enhancement
C7 AJ ‐ A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO PREPARE A PLAN AND A COST ESTIMATE FOR
TRAPPING, AND SPAYING OR NEUTERING ALL COMMUNITY CATS WITHIN MIAMI BEACH OVER A
PERIOD OF SIX MONTH, WITH THE PLAN TO BE PRESENTED TO THE FINANCE AND ECONOMIC
RESILIENCY COMMITTEE (“FERC”) AT ITS JULY 26, 2024 MEETING.

Phase one Cat Counting: 5 out of the 7 maps have been completed.
A facility will be required for CJ AJ project, with paid employees.
Another facility/facilities is/are required for the Cat Program for adoption, sick and injured cats,
and TNVR recovery due to the success of our new CMB Cat Trapper Coordinator.
