SUBJECT: Miami Beach Police Department Police Memorial Ceremony
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (L TC) is to inform the Mayor and the City Commission
about the Miami Beach Police Department's Police Memorial Ceremony to be held on Thursday,
May 1, 2025 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 PM. in front of the department's Police Memorial at
1100 Washington Avenue.
The Police Memorial Ceremony is observed in the United States in conjunction with Peace Officers
Memorial Day and National Police Week to pay tribute to peace officers who have died, or who
have been disabled, in the line of duty. This ceremony is a heartfelt tradition at the Miami Beach
Police Department to honor the 10 Miami Beach fallen officers and their surviving families.

Please join Chief Wayne Jones, his Command Staff and members of the Miami Beach Police
Department to pay tribute to the Miami Beach heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice. Light
refreshments will follow the ceremony.
You are also invited to join Miami Beach police personnel at the 44th Annual Miami-Dade Law
Enforcement Officers Memorial Ceremony honoring fallen officers from every police department
and law enforcement agency in Miami-Dade County that same evening. This sunset service will
take place at 6:30 P.M. at Tropical Park (7900 S.W. 40th Street, Miami, Florida).
