A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, EXTENDING THE "AD HOC CITY SANITATION
ADVISORY COMMITTEE," FOR AN ADDITIONAL PERIOD OF ONE YEAR,
(SUBJECT TO EARLIER OR LATER SUNSET BY THE CITY COMMISSION)
THROUGH MARCH 13, 2026, TO CONTINUE TO REVIEW EXISTING
CLEANLINESS AND SANITATION EFFORTS, IDENTIFY AREAS FOR
IMPROVEMENT, AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE CITY
REGARDING INNOVATIVE OPTIONS TO IMPROVE THE CLEANLINESS AND
SANITATION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH.
WHEREAS, on March 13, 2024, the Mayor and City Commission (City Commission),
approved Resolution No. 202432970, establishing the "Ad Hoc City Sanitation Advisory
Committee"; and
WHEREAS this Committee was to be established for one (1) year(subject to earlier or later
sunset by the City Commission), to review existing cleanliness and sanitation efforts, identify areas
for improvement, and make recommendations to the City regarding innovative options to improve
the cleanliness and sanitation; and
WHEREAS, the Committee did not convene for its first o�cial meeting until March 2025, due
to difficulty confirming appointees and reaching quorum; and
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends extending the term of the Committee for an
additional year, through March �3, 2026, with the current appointed members continuing to serve in
their existing appointments, in order to provide the Committee sufficient time to fWfill Its intended
purpose as an Ad Hoc Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission
hereby extend the"Ad Hoc Ciry Sanitation Advisory Committee,"for an additional penod of one year, (subjecl
to eadier or later sunset by the city commission) through March 13, 2026, to continue to review ezisting
deanliness and sanitation efforts, identlfy areas for improvement, and make recommendations to the city
regarding innovative options to improve the cleanliness and sanifation of ihe City of Miami Beach.

BACKGROUNDIHISTORV
On March 13, 2024, the Mayor and City Commission (Ciry Commission), approved ResoWtion
No. 2024-32970 (At[achmenl A), establishing the "Ad HOC City Sani[ation Advisory Committee".
This Committe was intended to function for one (1) year (subject to earlier or later sunset by the
City Commission),b perform a review of existinq deanliness and sanitation efforts, identify areas
for improvement, and make recommendations to lhe City regarding innovative options to improve
the cleanliness and sanitation.
Ad Hoc appointments were confrmed almost a year later, on February 3, 2025, due to difficWties
in reaching quorum. As such, the Administration recommends extending the Committee fo� an
additional year, through March 13, 2026, wilh Ihe same appointed members remaining on the
Committee.
