Resolution 2025-33623 RESOLUTION NO. 2025-33623 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO IMPLEMENT A "MOBILE CITY HALL" INITIATIVE DESIGNED TO ENHANCE PUBLIC TRUST AND TRANSPARENCY IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT BY ENHANCING ACCESS TO, AND AWARENESS OF, THE CITY'S DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS; PROVIDING FOR REGULAR COMMUNICATIONS COVERAGE OF DEPARTMENT DIRECTORS' ACTIVITIES; AND ENCOURAGING MORE PROACTIVE ENGAGEMENT BETWEEN CITYSTAFFAND RESIDENTS. WHEREAS, public trust in government is essential to the effective functioning of democratic institutions and civic engagement; and WHEREAS, transparency in government operations is a key factor in fostering accountability and building stronger relationships belween residents and their local government; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach recognizes the importance of increasing residents' understanding of and access to the City's operational and administrative functions; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission seek to create new opportunities for public engagement and information-sharing that go beyond traditional government communication channels; and WHEREAS, the proposed "Mobile City Hall" initiative will serve as a platform to showcase the daily efforts and decision-making processes of director-level staff across departments through enhanced coverage by the Office of Marking and Communications; and WHEREAS, this initiative will also promote more direct and proactive outreach from City staff to residents, thereby creating a more informed, connected, and participatory community. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby direct the Administration to develop and implement a "Mobile City Hall" initiative with the objective of enhancing public trust in local government, by: (1) increasing transparency through the regular publication and dissemination of content documenting the day-to-day operations and engagements of director-level staff, coordinated by the Office of Marketing and Communications; (2) facilitating proactive outreach by City staff to engage with residents, businesses, and community organizations, including but not limited to town halls, neighborhood visits, and interactive digital platforms; (3) exploring additional strategies, including mobile access points, to broaden civic participation and ensure inclusivity in government engagement effoRs; and further, direct the Administration to provide quarterly updates to the Mayor and City Commission regarding the progress and outcomes of the initiative via Letter to Commission.
