LSP SUPPORT
MIAMI BEACH SENIOR CENTER AND
INHOME RESPITE CARE
The Miami Beach Senior Center MBSC operated by Jewish
Community Services of South Florida Inc has received State funding
since 2002 via the LSP Local Service Provider Program totaling
161872 in non recurring funds for 2010 11 The funds are used to
provide 50 clients with activities within the Adult Day Care Center
which include nursing personal care educational social
healthlwellness and recreational opportunities to a multi cultural
population of older adults Additional services include transportation
and nutritional meals intended to forestall more costly interventions
such as hospitalizations and nursing home placements In addition
prior LSP transportation funding of 23234 will be added to the
funding requested for the MBSC
Nearly 35000 in LSP funds has been provided to JCS to support
caregivers with the in home respite assistance they need to care for
their loved ones as they age in place The total LSP support required
to continue these vital services is 221070
Any support of these important programs would be greatly
appreciated We are requesting your support to continue LSP funding
and that it be included in your legislative advocacy agenda
