MEMORANDUM
SUBJECT: Agenda item for the December 14th, 2011 Commission Meeting
Please place on the December 14th Commission meeting agenda a discussion item regarding
the beach renourishment project which could seriously affect the quality of a most important
asset.
I am concerned about the quality of the sand that will make up our beach after 100,000
cubic yards of sand is removed and am also concerned about the timing of the project.
This project was not scheduled for the high season, however, it is my understanding that
funding came through to the tune of $15 million that would possibly be lost if we didn't get
started earlier.
