SUBJECT: Motions from the Miami Beach Commission for Women
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to provide you with the motions made at the Miami Beach
Commission for Women meeting held on May 6, 2025.
Motion #1: The Miami Beach Commission for Women supports resolution proposed by Commissioner
Alex Fernandez directing the city administration to add infertility treatment as a new benefit available to
participants of the City's self-funded health plans. The Commission for Women recognizes the
importance of providing equitable access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare to the City's
workforce.

Motion #2: The Miami Beach Commission for Women accepts the request of Commissioner Kristen
Rosen Gonzalez and Mayor Matti Herrera Bower for the committee to discuss and recommend
potential conference topics, location, and guest speakers for the Women's Conference for Women's
History Month 2026.

Motion #3: The Miami Beach Commission for Women supports the proposed distance separation
exemption for adult material in retail cosmetic stores ordinance sponsored by Commissioner Kristen
Rosen Gonzalez. With the suggested amendments added to the ordinance: Reduction of allowable
floor area from 20% to 10%, revise age restriction from "17 and under" to "18 and under'', and clarify the
language for "personal massagers" so it explicitly prohibits sexual designs.
